Progress Reports

Progress Reports came yesterday to the castle. It is a very tempestuous time. Prince Tre is not doing so well and so therefore was feeling depressed over his progress report. I, Queen of Wallacedom, was also feeling very depressed over this report. The King and I, have tried all types of methods to motive Prince Tre to greatness because that is what he is, not because that is a task to accomplish! He just struggles with the buy-in on this, however I had a candor talk with him and told him he is going to have to do more than just his homework and taking notes. He needs to go that extra mile. So he will be doing daily research reports and we have come up with a game that he is really good at. We are playing Jeopardy with the TV airing of the show. Whoever gets the right answer gets 50cents for that answer. That Prince got most of the answers right, this is how I know there is no way he should be bringing home the grades he is..

If anyone has advice I am opened to it!

Prince Tre on Martin Luther King Day.

What does Martin Luther King Day mean to me? It means that this man Martin Luther King Jr, fought for my civil rights, your civil rights as an African- American. Now 45 years later, it has paid off, not fully but enough for us to have an African-American President. Which is really amazing because a lot of African-Americans never thought they would see this day. Now when I have kids, I can tell them that I got to see an African-American President be elected. And they will tell their children and when they grow up they can talk about the many more Black Presidents to come. Martin Luther King would be proud because without him none of this could happen. I wouldn't be able to go to the school I am going to or live in the house I am living or wear the clothes I wear or be able to walk down the street without someone calling me a nigger. That is what Martin Luther King Day means to me.

What Martin Luther King Day Means to Me by Prince Stephen

To me Martin Luther King day is more then just a holiday, it is a milestone of how far we as a people have come living in this nation. Here are some examples, tomorrow Barack Obama will be inaugurated into the White House. This is big because 40 years ago they would try to kill you if you tried to vote. Also they would make you take crazy exams to prove yourself literate. 60-70 years they could kill and beat us and walk away without fear of consequences. 150 years ago we were their slaves. And even more recent a few years ago they were proposing the question had Hip Hop or Black culture gotten too out of hand. But today I think if Martin was here, today he would say his dream, our dream has been realized. But we still have work to do. This is what Martin Luther King day means to me as a person and a African-American.

Why I Don't Want To Celebrate MLK Day by Princess Nadia

There are a lot of reasons why I should celebrate and maybe I should, but I don't. It's not right for people to force people to do stuff or to make someone their slave because of color. And we as African Americans have been through a lot and thanks to Martin Luther King, Jr we don't have to go through it any more. Look at what are ancestors went through and I am glad and he died because of it. But he's dead and It's time for us to live and take charge, but you don't see me getting a day name after me because I got a A in History and in another subject. and I am not saying that's why I don't want to rejoice in the victory and achievements he made. To tell you the truth I don't know why I don't want to o I guess I don't think it's needed. I am glad Obama's President, I truly am. And all my reasons I have and probably should put down point to why I should celebrate Martin Luther King Day and what he did for me.

Never Give Up.. Never Give In

I do my best to teach my Princes & Princess' that you should never give up and never given in. I am not always sure I get through to them, although I pray I do. Prince Dennis is having issues with not succeeding the first time he places his hand to do anything. I can't say that I did not see this trait forming in other arenas but I am very disappointed in the fact that he looses motivation after a loss of some sort. This could be wrestling practice, a video game, a test, etc... I have talked to I am blue in the face. Is there something else that I can do to keep him motivated to never give up and never give in? He has so much potential and so much talented but he has to develop it.
